Tackling the cost-of-living crisis
After 14 years of the Tories, people are facing soaring mortgages, sky-rocketing bills and the highest tax burden in 70 years.
Only Labour can solve this crisis, and here is how we will do it:
- Build 1.5 million homes with the biggest boost to affordable, social and council housing in a generation.
- Make work pay with a New Deal for working people.
- Create 650,000 good jobs through the National Wealth Fund.
- Lower energy bills by setting up Great British Energy, a publicly owned clean power company.
- Ban zero-hour contracts, end fire and rehire and deliver a genuine living wage.

End the conflict in Gaza
Since I was first elected to Parliament, I have been a consistent voice in solidarity with the people of Palestine. I have been an advocate for:
- An immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
- Recognition of the state of Palestine as part of efforts to secure a lasting peace of a two-state solution.
- Lifting all restrictions to the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
- Protection of civilians and humanitarian workers.
- Support for the independence of international courts.
- Restoring funding to UNRWA.
- Halting of arms sales to Israel and publishing legal advice the government has received about arms sales to Israel.
- Ending illegal settlements in the West Bank.
First steps for change
Here's how Labour will get Britain's future back:
- Deliver economic stability.
- Cut NHS waiting times.
- Launch a new Border Security Command.
- Set up Great British Energy.
- Crack down on antisocial behaviour.
- Recruit 6,500 new teachers.
Re-elect Tahir Ali for Hall Green and Moseley
Hall Green and Moseley is home to diverse and vibrant communities. It is through this diversity that we find our greatest strength. I will work tirelessly with you to tackle the issues that you care about.
- An NHS fit for all – GP waiting times are at an all-time high. We need more local GPs and lower waiting times at surgeries and hospitals.
- Ensuring quality public services for all – we must protect our community assets at any cost, that is why I will work to keep libraries, communities centres and local services open.
- Tackling crime and antisocial behaviour – we need more police officers on our streets to tackle antisocial behaviour and ensure our roads and streets are safe.
- Deliver education, skills and jobs – by working closely with our new regional leaders, I will make sure that young people have access to the skills training and education they need to make the most of their life opportunities.
- Support for migrants and asylum seekers – I have helped thousands of local residents with their visas and asylum claims. I will continue this work to ensure people can build their future in Hall Green and Moseley.
